Renowation of a house for rental purpose.

Dear ones,

I wish to introuce one of my latest work, which is renowation of a house for rental purpose.

It’s a slightly different atmosphere than before. I had the pleasure of supporting my Canadian client in renovating her house in Ponta Delgada (Azores island of Sao Miguel).

Clients bought a house for rent. Beautiful, several-story building with an internal two-level garden and terrace. A house with soul and good energy. Requiring adaptation to today’s standards. And also, and above all, to a new form of use, which is renting space (in the short or long term). The client wanted to maintain the island atmosphere. Renew as much as possible of what is. And that new furniture and objects would fit into the current soul of the place.

Our main changes? I talked Shawnette into keeping the Portuguese tiles. It is undoubtedly one of the most important symbols of this country. In addition, new flooring was laid (almost) everywhere. With a warm walnut color that matches the existing wooden elements of the house. The cork floor that dominated the upstairs bedrooms, due to its unique properties and material nobility, I opted to leave it and clean/impregnate it. And that’s what happened in most of these rooms. Of course, the walls and ceilings were repaired, renovated and painted. Colors that give a feeling of cleanliness, lightness and homely warmth. Existing wooden elements, doors and windows. Including beautiful, noble and solid furniture. It’s all been renovated! The furniture arrangement in most rooms has been changed. We added new accessories and lighting to create a feeling of comfort, joy and lightness. A beautiful, simple and aesthetic change. Obtained through solid brainstorming, consistent design and implementation activities.
